+This brings us to the main purpose of this article, which is to warn and prepare our readers for any indications of the presence of such forces, either in their own consciousness or that of friends and dear ones, so that they may know just how to handle them.
+In our Editorial of October, on page 439, it was stated, “During the following months there may come to some—without warning—something that will cause a great fear to grip the mind.”
+We have had reported to us experiences of such nature by three different persons during the last month. They were not alike but were evidently due to the same cause. We will relate one of the experiences.
+A young woman—a truth student—came to see us and told of having awakened in the morning feeling so strange, so dazed and confused, and her mind so filled with fear, that she was unable to control her thoughts or do anything. She was crying and a strange look was in her eyes—something was there, not her own intelligence, that would not look into our eyes.
+We understood the situation and at once tried to get her mind interested in something else, by asking her questions and recalling to her the lessons in The Way Out, which she had been studying and in whose truths she had become deeply interested. We asked her if she understood the Law explained therein, and had her repeat it, thus getting her mind off her fear and to thinking on the truth.
+We then showed her that it was what she thought and believed was so that had outmanifested; that this fear she had awakened with, she had accepted as due to something harmful and terrible, and instead of remembering the truths she had been taught, she had surrendered to the fear and had thus opened herself wide to what she feared—and it had come upon her! When the fact is, this had been but an opportunity given her by her Higher Self to learn the full meaning of this Law and to use and prove it, so that she would know it not just intellectually, but would truly know it.
+By laughing at her fears and further explaining the Law, we brought her fully back in control of her mind and its thought processes, so that she clearly saw and learned the lesson intended.
