 +The writer once listened to a lecture by the head physician in a state asylum for the insane. He stated that a number of persons had been sent to his institution, who became perfectly normal after remaining in the institution for a short time and who continued normal as long as they were kept away from their homes, or wherever they had lived when they first manifested insanity. However, when they were discharged as cured and went back home, they soon became insane again. There was something, he said, in their surroundings which produced the result. A complete change always effected a cure.

 +Doctors often advise a change of residence to those suffering from various ailments, when nothing else seems to effect improvement. This change is often of great good in nervous or mental trouble. The real change seems to consist in the changing of the person’s mental, and consequently, his physical vibrations, incited by his reactions to the vibrations in his environment.

 +A person can change his vibrations by the kind and strength of the thoughts that he holds. When he takes up a thought, he tunes in, as it were, on the vibrations of others holding the same thought, and he enters into a thought current which is as real as a current of air, and can sometimes be felt. Every thought thus thrown into space finds a lodging place in some person or persons, though they may be thousands of miles away and totally unknown to the sender. In the same way a thought may be transmitted from one person to another at a distance. If the receiving person is attuned, and this means if there is a harmony of mind or ideas, a message may be delivered as plainly as by phone. The radio has been of great help in understanding this law.

 +Thus, by the kind of thoughts we hold, we draw to and about ourselves great unseen forces, which will lead us on and up to unbelievable heights or will drag us down to destruction. Jesus taught that if a man contemplates sinning, he is already guilty of the act. Paul wrote of wrestling, “not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of the air, and wickedness in high places.” Both had an exact knowledge of the principles just mentioned.
