+HEREIN we will unfold to those who are ready what is perhaps the most important fact about himself a man can know. It has been told many times in other ways, but never just as we shall present it; for the simple reason that perhaps only one man in a million knows it exactly as will be stated.
+Almost every man thinks he is the body of flesh that walks around and does the things he does every day of the year. If told he is not that body, but is something invisible and is wearing that body as his body is wearing its clothes, the average man would find it difficult to understand, or would not believe it. But we are going to prove this in a new way, and make it so plain that all who can read can comprehend and will never afterward consider themselves as mere flesh and blood.
+First, we would recall to you statements made in previous issues, principally in the mind and soul articles, that physical man has no life of his own, no mind of his own, no will of his own; that of himself he did not create or grow his body or give it life—in fact he has no part in its creation, other than to fill it full of the imperfections that now harass it; nor did he place in it what he calls his mind, nor give it what power or will it possesses.
+Where then did man get his life, mind and will? The average man will say, “From God.” And that answer satisfies ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine out of a hundred thousand.
+But the one thinker in a hundred thousand will not be satisfied, and he will want to know how and why God created him as he is, and also will want to know just how and what is this God who so created him.
+Such a desire to know is the beginning of knowledge, and if that desire persists and causes the thinker to search and study himself until he clearly understands, he will know for himself what we propose to tell in this article.
