If you say, “I know what to do,” this is not just a thought, it is a truth, and a powerful one. Don’t worry about your thoughts. Keep on saying, “I know what to do.” This consistent mental attitude will strike a chord within those who know you and associate, and you will find happenings in their positive reaction to your firm stand; and as for yourself, you will find that you are changing from a waiting attitude to a doing attitude.

Instead of feeling dissatisfied, you will begin to feel satisfied, because satisfaction only comes from exercising the powers that you possess. If you do not use the power of “knowing” that is within you, you will never feel satisfied. For like all powers, it has to be developed.

“The next time you feel undecided about your life, try saying, ‘I KNOW what to do.’ Say it desperately. Cling to it like you would cling to a spar if you were drowning. Say it with regard to small things and big things. Remember that, however far you have travelled along the path, you need to develop this ‘knowing’ power more than any other power you possess. Instead of asking someone’s opinion, say, positively, ‘I KNOW what to do.’

“After practicing steadily for a time, you will find that the ‘thinking’ process is gradually being eliminated, and that when you say, ‘I KNOW what to do,’ the thing to do will appear right on the heels of your saying it—like a genie rising out of a bottle. It will be almost uncanny. Say, ‘I KNOW what to do’—and here mysteriously is the knowledge what to do rising up within you like a jet out of a fountain.

It is much like pressing a button, and getting a flood of light. But you must get the habit of pressing the button. When you want the light of electricity, you always press the switch. You must adhere to the same process. Then it will become automatic. You don’t have to “think” about it. Thoughts get in your way more than any other one thing. They keep on telling you there is a this and a that, and consequently rack you with indecision. By keeping a “knowing” attitude, temporary inaction ceases to be so distasteful, and you will find yourself poised in easy as you go along, and therefore more ready and rested when it comes time for active action.
