Ye did inflict. Thus when your souls again
\\ return to Earth ye shall be so aware,
\\ Subconsciously of all that Pain doth mean
\\ to man and beast and every living thing,
\\ From foremost ye shall be to intervene,
\\ with protests fierce whose clarion call shall ring
\\ Conviction into minds that fail to see
\\ the error of the ways to which they cling;
\\ The evils to mankind which cruelty,
\\ to whomsoever meted out, must bring,
\\ By Karma’s Law, which all must strive to keep,
\\ and sow with Love and Peace who Love and Peace would reap.

==== CONCENTRATION ====
IT IS often asked, Is the practice of concentration beneficial? I answer: Genuine concentration and meditation, conscious and cautious, upon one’s lower self, in the light of the inner divine man, is an excellent thing. But to “sit for Yoga,” with only a superficial and often distorted knowledge of the real practice, is almost invariably fatal; for ten the student will either develop mediumistic powers in himself or lose time and get disgusted with both the practice and the theory.
Before one rushes into such a dangerous experiment and seeks to go beyond a minute’s examination of one’s lower self and its part in life, he would do well to learn at least the difference between the two aspects of “Magic”—White or Divine, and Black or Devilish, and to assure himself, by sitting for Yoga, with no experience and with no competent guide to show him the dangers, that he does not daily and hourly cross the boundaries of the Divine to fall into the Satanic.
Nevertheless the way to learn the difference is very easy. One has only to remember that no Esoteric truths, entirely unveiled, will ever be given in public print, in book, or magazine. —The Secret Doctrine, Vol. 11, page 490.
