“The time has come when students and thinkers generally, no matter what their belief, philosophy, or school of thought, are ready to accept pure truth—at least intellectually when it is offered them; for there is something in every human soul seeking light that responds to truth when simply and impersonally stated.

“This implies that there will be offered herein pure truth, and evidently in so convincing a way that it can be accepted as such by real thinkers. We admit that is what is planned and that it is a large undertaking, but it is believed that all real students and thinkers would like to have a magazine that will not only satisfy their intellectual craving for helpful knowledge, but will also feed their soul hunger for spiritual knowledge, especially for truths about the inner life, which are so difficult to obtain.

“It is therefore intended to give the reader the best kind of articles offered by other magazines, and in addition such features of universal interest about subjects they do not cover, that will make each number eagerly sought and read.

“What will be presented therefore will in no way interfere with any of the accepted truths of the different schools of thought: Psychology, New Thought, Christian Science, Spiritualism, Theosophy, Rosicrucianism, or any of the Christian Churches, or of any Church, for that matter; for we hope to throw a new light upon many of the truths of their teachings, making them stand out in clearer relief, so that the Soul of each reader will respond to them, as well as his intellect.”

We have printed in italics the last part of the above paragraph, because it well states the real purpose of presenting to you so many kinds of treatment of various subjects. In all of the different articles, however, you will note a definite and persistent effort being made to relate and apply their teachings to the soul and to the inner life; to point out their inner meaning, and in each case to give to our readers the pure truth about the things stated, and in such plain language that all can understand.
