====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | DECEMBER 1935 == ---- Try to realize this great truth, and many times a day to meditate upon it, retiring back within the consciousness of the I AM of you, pointing out to your mind all of the above things, deliberately talking to it, and explaining what it needs to know or anything that may be bothering it at the moment. Yes, you can do this, by commanding it to “Be Still, and Know that I AM, God!” and then continue by speaking such words as, “Let me show you what is wrong,” and confidently adding whatever is put into your mind to say, and it will be surprised at the knowledge that is given it. By practice and trusting, the mind will soon learn that you are speaking with knowledge, power and authority; so much so that it will have a notebook handy and will write down and thus save all that you tell it. Many have proven this and are very grateful for the wonderful truths that have thus been given them. In this way you gradually train your mind to look to you only for instruction and guidance and to depend upon you, and as it does so and learns to turn confidently to you, it soon realizes it needs no other teacher or authority, that you in very fact are the way, the truth and the life, for it, and that through you it can come straight to the Father—the One Consciousness, and get anything it needs to know and to have. Think what that means, dear friend! Is there any greater blessing awaiting the earnest seeker? And did not Jesus know what He was saying when He told His disciples all those wonderful truths in the words, “I am the way,” “I am the door,” “I am the vine,” “I am the good shepherd,” “I am come a light into the world; that whosoever believeth on me shall not abide in the darkness,” “He that hath seen me, hath seen the Father?” Can you not see that He was speaking of the I AM, the Christ in every man; speaking of you who have been trying from the beginning to tell your mind as much of these great truths as it was able to understand and accept?
