SPIRITUALISTS call the development of psychical sensitiveness and mediumship “soul development.” To me soul development is the development of the individuality.

The manifestations of spirits during the last hundred years have been to demonstrate the fact of continued existence of human beings after death. The real desire of the Higher Immortals is to bring to earth not psychical sensitiveness, but the knowledge which will attune the soul of man to those noble Beings who live in more exalted states than ordinary mediumship has ever contacted.

Through all the earlier years of my research into psychical mysteries, my question was, “What do they teach in the higher schools of Heaven that we can teach and practice here on earth?”

The ordinary demonstrations of spirit return were wholly unsatisfactory, because the spirits became earth-bound in trying to gratify the desires of mortals. Spirits were pulled down, instead of human beings becoming exalted. The result of holding to my purpose for many years brought me in touch with what are called the Masters. Their revelations and methods are very much higher than the common teachings of Spiritualists.

I write all this to show you that there is much more to know and practice than negative mediumship, for which so many are seeking. You have no doubt noticed that mediums get in touch with spirits like themselves.
