====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JUNE 1933 == ---- It is well at all times to remember that that which may subvert certain things that now are, is not destructive or revolutionary; and this is why,—the world through the machinations of the enemy is now down-side up. Therefore, until the baser elements are cast down from a place not rightfully theirs, and the higher ones are again raised up to their proper place, there can be no progress—only destruction. Mankind is no longer on the upward trend but as a mass is retrogressing in many ways. Unless we stop it, we will soon enter a night stage of existence, compared to which savagery or the medieval darkness is as the bright glare of the noonday sun. Therefore, there is set before us a task which is the ordering and upholding of constructive forces; the spreading of knowledge and the uncovering of evils; the uplifting of the standard of decency and honor; the respect of the rights of others; and last but not least—the love of humanity as outlined by the LIVING CHRIST. Furthermore, this program does not prohibit us from active warfare on all planes, mental, spiritual, and if need be physical, against the enemies of Light. They have challenged Christian Civilization to a life and death struggle—and we shall give them absolutely no quarter. There can be no half-way measures. It is yield or die to the enemy. Compromise is the act of a traitor and coward. All government must come from within, but it can only come into operation as the individuals to be governed evolve into such a state of awareness (in the language of the street, “get wise to themselves”) that they will automatically apply its principles to their conduct of life. Government from without is at its very best but a sorry makeshift. {{ :6-46.jpg? |}} ---- //⥳ [[principles_of_government|previous page]] // | // [[principles_of_government_3|next page]] ⥴ //
