====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JUNE 1933 == ---- good; but history has proved in every case that sooner or later these good men died off or were otherwise removed from office and replaced by those who should have been kept in bonds—who thus retrograde and are gradually corrupted into absolute tyranny, as is so often the case. However, man being as he is at this time, it is necessary for us, for the time being, to make use of such remedies and expedients as will keep things in order until an ever increasing percentage of “aware people” are awakened and trained, as to render unnecessary any makeshifts. A man who is whole will not need crutches, nor will a well man need medicine. Take heed of this—the miracles of today are the commonplaces of tomorrow. Any of you who have passed forty have seen ushered into common use the electric light, the airplane, phonograph, automobile, motion pictures, radio, etc., that an older generation knew not in its day. If within less than fifty years these seeming miracles have become commonplace and a part of our daily lives, why should it seem remarkable that an even greater change should take place in the higher nature of men? I tell you that these things are a part of the Divine Plan. Such perversion of the use of inventions as has been done, is but a small matter, and shall not deter the ushering in of a new age. If it is necessary now to use makeshifts to keep order until such time as enough people are awakened to the true meaning of life—and this shall be done so rapidly as to seem miraculous. For example, when the New Civilization dawns, many things shall be done differently.
