of such personalities with their selfish development and conflict, were right in their time and place; and who shall say that in time and place they are not right today?

And the possibility of a universal medium of exchange can only come from the various mediums in use on earth today. Simply to demand the abolition of money or to discard it as an idea, is the limited idea of the short-sighted theorist. The better way it seems to me would be to evolve money until it became an exchange acceptable to the Plateau and such earth men who could approach It, while having at the same time universal acceptance among earth dwellers at large.

Properly to evolve and use the mediums of earth, man must be able to recognize and employ the spiritual realities that underlie them. This is too obvious for comment. How does he learn to use and recognize spiritual realities? By invoking them in his prayers or in meditation, seeking to delve underneath all human concepts to the pure ideas they hide. This is also too obvious for comment.

Consider the popular statement “Money is power.” What does it mean? It is an attempt of the earth mind to grasp a great spiritual Truth, the Truth that the reality or the real substance of money, is SPIRITUAL POWER; and I tried to have earth men see that this Power can be invoked by understanding, realizing prayer and meditation, and that the mere statement of the Law was not enough.

This message was sadly misunderstood or misapplied. The earth dweller, contacting the Plateau in his prayers, found Power given him as freely as anything else; but then he interpreted it in terms of “force,” and wondered why things on earth went awry. He frantically sought for ways and means of attaching force to his money, force to collect it, force to maintain it, force to bolster up its unstable nature. And he was reluctant to learn from contact with the Plateau what the real Power is that underlies the earth medium of exchange.

As stated above, it is simply the capacity for universal, impersonal loving service to the Whole, which creates a medium that becomes a channel for the use of that Power for the benefit of the Whole.
