====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | AUGUST 1936 == ---- At first I did not know that the Princess was anything to me at all. I had no idea she would awaken in five days. Now I can begin to learn about the Edifice and the many chambers and the objects within them. LISTEN!—THIS WHO NOW WRITES IS THE PRINCESS! Her eyes are still dewy with the shades of night. Prince Charming, Her Bridegroom, awakens Her with love and tenderness from Her dream of a far land. She brings back the treasure She has named Humility; this She does to honor Her Father. Now others in the King’s country had tried to awaken the sleeping Princess, but because they were not of Royal Blood they know not Her Lineal Name. And in this glorious Day the Son of the King, the Bridegroom, calls the awakened Beauty, and as One they live in the Edifice for all time. And what is the Bride?—Diamond-dust, fashioned in mortal form; no organs of generation. Her body is smooth, Her naked feet whiter than Shasta snows. Sheaves of ripened wheat on the North Dakota prairies caught the color of Her hair. The waters remember the color of Her eyes, and their restless motion is their longing for Her. The noonday sky is the blue of Her robe, draped in a pink cloud of the morning sunrise. And the Sons and Daughters of the King call Her by Name. I now know this one is wholly conscious of her soul, and I will lead the part that has been asleep gently into my true self. I know nothing about a crucifixion. When does it begin? Why have the others endured so many trials? You told me in the beginning that the Path is not really hard, if we let Christ lead. I believed that. I have always thought the Path glorious, romantic beyond words. Every day now a new idea comes and a little more of the dream goes. All that is, is stored in the diamond-dust in my body. But there is diamond-dust in and around everything I have discovered. When I go in a dark room, this dust lights the room. —N. J.
