====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | DECEMBER 1934 == ---- Thou shalt know; for they are indeed the ones who ask and seek nothing for self; who live in the Presence, ever striving to pattern themselves after Jesus; who are slow to anger, are humble, and sit not in the seats of the mighty nor dwell in the tents of the ungodly; who guard their tongues as a citadel of the evil one; who seek not signs, nor riches, nor power (as miracles and wonders performed to awe the unbelieving); but who are rather content to do all things according to the Will of God, Who Himself shall then do many wondrous things through them for His Glory, that men may know without doubt that these be Sons of God. How shall this come to pass?—thou art asking in thy hearts. I say unto thee that if thou shalt seek Him with all thy heart, lo, He is at thy very door, waiting to come in and abide with thee. In His Name and by His Authority, Whose will I do, I give you this Message. In much love for thee and all my brethren. Peace. Love. ———○——— “There is only one way to avoid the cosmic wheel of cause and effect—necessity for re-embodiment—and that through the conscious effort to comprehend the Law of Life. One must earnestly seek the God Within, make permanent, conscious contact with that Inner Self, and hold firmly to it in the face of every condition of the outer life. “It is the function of the outer activity of the intellect to guide all expansion into constructive channels. This is the purpose and duty of the outer self. To allow the Great Life, or God Energy, to be used only for the gratification of the sense desires—the habit of the mass of mankind—is its destructive use and is always, without any exception, followed by inharmony, weakness, failure, and destruction. “The constructive use of desire is the conscious direction of this limitless God Energy by Wisdom. All desire directed by Wisdom carries some kind of blessing to the rest of creation. All desire directed by the God Within goes forth with the feeling of Love and blesses always.” —Saint Germain. {{ :3412-52.jpg |}} ---- //⥳ [[the_impersonal_work_dec34_7 | previous page]] // | // [[the_interpreter_s_house_dec34 | next page]] ⥴ //
