====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JUNE 1934 == ---- through the ages, whether consciously or not, has contacted different planes of Being, all the way down from God to the lesser soul planes, to man’s soul and to his outer mind. The Prophets, Holy Men, Occultists, Theosophists, followers of Mary Baker Eddy, all contacted or tuned in, like in a radio, on different planes of Being and received truths true to the plane contacted, but relatively untrue on higher or lower planes. As for instance, we often refer to this physical plane as having fixed and unchangeable laws of chemistry, mind, dietetics, pathology, physics, etc., when all of these laws may be but true on this particular plane of Being, yet may not be the least true considered from a higher plane, or to a four, five or six dimensional mind. Also when Jesus broke the law of gravity after His resurrection by ascending in the air and dematerializing His body; and when another fixed law or truth on the physical plane was broken by His and Peter’s walking on the water, etc. Just as when my mind tries to reassemble a jig-saw puzzle from the parts, all of them meaningless and uninterpretable when seen separately or when mixed-up; so does my mind have to study, visualize, classify, tabulate and arrange into one whole the many varied alleged beliefs, facts, truths found in metaphysics. For example, metaphysics teaches that earth-life experience is good for the soul, that it teaches the soul to acquire many lacking attributes and qualities; that many of the great tragedies provide the needed lessons for the soul’s growth—were brought about for that purpose, that chance or accident had no part in them. I have no objection to these statements; in fact I believe that only by experience does the young and immature soul gain the soul food that enables it to grow. I therefore say that to the best of my knowledge this is absolutely true. But it is true only relatively—it is relative truth—to the soul, on soul planes, and in soul development. To the I AM, on the plane of Absolute Being, it is not true at all. For all that the soul seeks to become, to be, lifetime after lifetime, I always Am. I AM an eternal state of Perfect Being. Before the soul was, I AM. And I AM its last and final objective. {{ :3406-51.jpg |}} ---- //⥳ [[the_impersonal_work_jun34_4|previous page]] // | // [[the_impersonal_work_jun34_6|next page]] ⥴ //
