====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | NOVEMBER 1936 == ---- Consciousness. That to them was a real initiation, and we will consider later just what took place. We are told in the Pyramid articles, however, that everyone in the world entered the King’s Chamber at that time. How could that be when so few were conscious of it and the vast majority were manifestly not ready for that sacred realization? It must mean that only the soul—the inner or real man—made that entrance, and that the outer man within the next two years must face his own soul—must have the “veil of separation” lifted—and prove his ability to stand and abide in the Light of Christ—the Consciousness of the Kingdom, shining in the “Secret Place” of the soul. Remember, the soul is man’s real consciousness, is that inner part of him that puts on a garment of flesh with its human brain-mind, in order to express itself in the outer world. Man’s soul in its intrinsic nature is pure—as a child is pure; but even as with a child, its consciousness must grow and expand until it is capable of understanding and expressing all of the truth and the fulness of the nature of its Father in Heaven, a Son of God—its Higher or Divine Self. This growth is all symbolized and outpictured in the Great Pyramid. If the student will realize that the entrance into the Pyramid as illustrated in the diagram is the entrance of the soul into physical or human expression, that the Pyramid symbolizes man’s body or animal consciousness, and that all that is then experienced by the individual, in the different passages and chambers up to and including the King’s Chamber, is experienced by the soul in its different embodiments during its many lives on earth—it can be seen how the soul struggles and gradually through the ages frees itself from the limitations and restrictions of the animal forces of these outer garments, and thereby becomes able to control, redeem and utilize these forces in the higher service of the Christ or Divine Self. But why is it necessary for the soul to go through all of that seemingly endless experience? There can be but one answer,—its Father in Heaven, a Son of God, its Higher Self, Who created the soul in His image and likeness out of the “dust” of earth—the basic substance of physical or mortal consciousness—was but redeeming the forces resident in that consciousness.
