THE LAWS governing Mental Causes and Physical Manifestations may be summed up in the statement, “Whatever you think and hold in consciousness as being so, outmanifests itself in your body and affairs.”

If we have convinced ourselves that this is a Law, then we should be able to understand that what we now see in manifestation must be because of the beliefs we are holding in consciousness. Where we get confused is that we fail to take into consideration that we are not consciously aware of certain deeply-rooted raceconscious beliefs.

Every part of our physical bodies represents or is the manifestation of a belief held in consciousness. However, those beliefs may have been born in consciousness during the course of a million years to satisfy some supposed needs that appeared from time to time in humanity’s unfoldment.

In recent years weakness and diseased conditions have been much in evidence in connection with the feet, such as fallen arches, lameness and other foot affections. There is a very definite reason for these conditions.

The feet represent our understanding; that is, our underlying beliefs on which we stand and which determine our ability to progress toward a definite goal. We often hear the remark, “He is stepping out,” when someone is making progress.

The idea has become prevalent that after one reaches a certain age there is no place for him in modern business life. Just watch the individual who accepts that idea. He feels that all roads are closed. His progress is entirely cut off. In a short time you will find that his arches have fallen and other foot conditions have manifest. The depression, caused by man’s attitude toward the future and the belief that all avenues for him were barred, he could see nothing ahead; all conditions were against him. Such weakened beliefs and let-down understanding are sufficient reasons why foot ailments have become so prevalent the past few years.
