====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | OCTOBER 1934 == ---- ==== WHAT A MAN THINKS ==== //“WHATEVER you think and hold in consciousness as being so outmanifests itself in your life and affairs.”// IN THE preceding article on the Mind it was stated that scarcely one in a thousand who reads the above words even glimpses the mighty potentialities hidden in their meaning. Also in that article was shown how to think and hold a thought in consciousness until all of its inner meaning becomes clear; how from within a thought comes forth into your mind all of the many ideas related to that thought—all that you wish or need to know—if you keep your interest and attention focused upon it to the exclusion of everything else. We wish to impress upon you the significance of this action and the infinite possibilities of keeping your mind thus one-pointedly focused. Remember that all is consciousness, and all things exist only in consciousness. Therefore when you concentrate upon a thought (in consciousness all things are thoughts) you, as it were, bore into that thought until you reach its center or soul—the pure idea that gave it birth—and thereby become one with its consciousness and nature. The moment you accomplish this you have found and know the truth of its being, and the truth is thereby released and flows forth into expression in your consciousness and life—just as fast as your mind accommodates itself completely to the truth’s requirements. This is a law as inviolable as any law of electricity. We will now view in consciousness just what that means. When you thus enter and become one with the consciousness of an idea—let us again take the idea Money—that idea (Money) thereby becomes one with you and seeks only to serve and bless you. In other words, when you thus come into the true understanding of Money, as explained in the article, Money, the Servant of Man, it will always serve you—as well as any other idea similarly understood when you thus enter its consciousness and become one with it. Of course, you who read cannot “see” or fully grasp just how this is so, and wish it could be more clearly explained.
