====== The Inner Life ====== == THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | MAY 1934 == ---- In the first place, urged by the strong desire of his soul to help his brother that came to him in meditation, when his mind was at rest and free to feel it, our friend of the above experience seemingly left his body—that is, it seemed to him that he left it. But in reality his consciousness was but drawn to his brother’s soul because of his own soul’s affinity or love for it and his natural response to his brother’s need. This often occurs when one’s mind is quiet and some one close is in trouble—one’s consciousness is drawn to the one needing help, and with the ordinary person who is not psychic, it causes him to think of, or to wonder or perhaps unconsciously to worry suddenly about the one in trouble. But with our friend, because of his being psychic and in the quiet of meditation, his consciousness went straight to the bedside of his brother as described, being fully aware of what he was doing, and he was led to carry with him the Light and Power of those in the group, including that of Those in the invisible Who were present and Who perhaps influenced and helped him so to go. The result was as shown—by simply placing his hand on his brother, it drove away the forces responsible for the attack. Almost all cases of convulsions or epileptic fits are caused by another entity on the spirit side of life trying to drive out the owner from his body so that he can take possession of it. The convulsions are usually induced by the soul’s fear when it senses the presence or the attempt of the entity to enter the soul’s aura, and by his fighting to prevent it. The reason another entity is able to attack one in this manner is because of the soul’s protective sheath having been weakened by drink or narcotics, or by an accident having injured the brain or skull. Further regarding going in consciousness to the soul of another, when working to help him: Try to realize that all things, persons and places are ideas, thoughts or concepts in your consciousness, and where anything is, is but a “place” or concept in your consciousness; while what may be troubling another is also but a concept in your consciousness. For in reality, that other, as a soul or center of the One Consciousness, is perfect, is in God’s image and likeness; for such he was created in the beginning and such he {{ :3405-40.jpg |}} ---- //⥳ [[working_in_the_invisible_2|previous page]] // | // [[there_is_no_mystery|next page]] ⥴ //
