IN THE December Editorial of the Magazine, we wrote on the subject of “Testings,” and went to considerable pains to impress some great truths upon our readers, intending the truths particularly for all students and lovers of The Impersonal Life and of the Impersonal Lessons.

We tried to show the necessity for all earnest seekers to watch and pray constantly from now on to the “end;” “for we are in the midst of all kinds of devious trials, temptations and testings, such as will tax even the wisest to keep from stumbling, if not falling, on their Way to the Kingdom.”

We spoke of how one of the most subtle tests is being brought to many through the various occult movements that promise a shortcut to Adeptship and Masterhood and give instructions how to develop psychic powers or to unfold spiritual faculties that will open students to the invisible world and connect them there with a Master or Teacher.
