likeness of God which He created in the beginning, and which still exists and cannot be defiled by man, whatever he does with it. Think, dear friend, is this not true? It is only our wrong beliefs about that Temple that have made man and his physical body what they appear to be today, leading him so far astray and making him seemingly so different from God that man thinks all kinds of wrong things about himself—when God alone is dwelling in his body. For it is God’s Life, Consciousness and Nature only that are expressing in and through him.
If a man believes that eating meat defiles his body, then to him it is so. But by the same law, if he believes that he lifts up, transmutes and blesses all that he eats, and eats to that end, then for him that is so.
Then it cannot be otherwise that whatever we take into our bodies, believing that our bodies are God’s Holy Temple, and whenever we sit down to eat—no matter what is before us—we bless our food in the words used at the close of the October article, you cannot now see that food will be hallowed? For it will be used for the bringing forth of that Inner Temple into the outer, as we consecrate it thus to Spirit’s use.
“NOW the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
“Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
“Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
“For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving.
“For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” —I Tim. 4:1–5.
