the influence of perverted thoughts and wrong use of reason and will, they have wandered, living with the evil forces which caused our Master to say, “Ye are of your father, the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.”
Mankind has lowered the standard of truth and now the call is being heard throughout the Universe to return to uprightness and true manhood, from which we have fallen.
The increase of spiritual knowledge and understanding, the searching for pure, impersonal teaching, and the apparent effort of so many to practice each truth as they receive it, is a positive sign of the times, potent and far-reaching. Many are hearing, through the Voiceless Voice, the words written by Isaiah, “Arise, shine, for thy Light is come, and the glory of the Lord (Love) is risen upon thee;” and realize that this Light is within them. They are realizing the promise written in this 60th chapter of Isaiah, and are “transformed by the renewing of their minds.”
Many have realized the mistake they made in past years, turning a deaf ear to the Voice of the Infinite, and several have quoted that verse in Jeremiah, “Forsaking Me, the Fountain of Living Waters, they hew them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” They now realize, as we all do, that we have allowed ourselves to be ruled by our senses, and therefore have been led a sorry chase around the wheel of birth, death and reincarnation.
But now—those of us who have suffered enough—have learned, and have done our best to live the lessons learned, to transmute the physical senses to spiritual realization of unconditional life, in selfless service to our fellow wayfarers. We have learned that Life is to give, not to get, and that “He who would understand the Plains must ascend the Eternal Hills, where man’s eyes scan Infinity. But he who would make use of Understanding, must descend into the Plains, where Past and Future meet, and men have need of him.”
So in great Peace, great Thankfulness, great Joy and Love, we go forth, our Standard held high, our Armour bright and shining, with a prayer on our lips:
“O my Divinity, blend Thou with me, with all—that out of darkness we may go forth on Eternal Light.” —F. I.
