desire and efforts—now wish to attain Spirituality through the unfolding of your psychic faculties, which the absence of meat in your diet will bring about, although you may have been told it will make you more sensitive and thereby more spiritual.

Try to realize that this may be but a phase of your soul unfoldment, and that there may be a higher phase awaiting, as Jesus and Paul quite clearly indicate. We will now show you what is this higher phase.

If you will study nature you will see that life in all the kingdoms is but a series of sacrifices; for all minerals give up their life to the higher forms of vegetables, animals and men may live. Vegetables give up their life that animals and men may live, and it is evidently intended by God that animals also give up their life that men may live. While men likewise, when they come to their full development, gladly give up their lives—surrender all of self—bodies, minds, souls, so that their God Selves may live.

And if you can only see it, each kingdom, by thus being “eaten” and its life-force being absorbed into the life-stream of the higher kingdom, is thereby lifted up into a higher rate of vibration and therefore into a higher realm of consciousness.

The fact is, by taking the life essence of both animals and vegetables into your human system and building it into your blood, you are perhaps in the most effective way lifting up and aiding your younger brothers, and helping to free the One Consciousness in them from their greatly limiting forms. For, you must remember, it is the consciousness in a form, whether in mineral, vegetable, animal or man, that is expressing in that form, and that there is only One Consciousness—God’s, and that Consciousness is ever seeking higher and less limiting forms of expression.

So when man thus consciously knows he is freeing his “younger brothers” and lifting them into a higher consciousness by taking them as food into his body, and he blesses all that he eats, he thereby cooperates with God and becomes an open channel through which His chemicizing and purifying life-force can work unhindered.
