I HAVE just recently had to meet a terrible ordeal. One of my boys was arrested for hit and run driving, a felony in this state. It appears that there can be no doubt of his guilt. He had hit a sign left in the road one night, and a woman was hit on another night on the same highway; and when my boy was arrested and he frankly told them all that occurred, they thought he was lying and tried to get him to confess.

He told them that he did not do anything wrong and could not confess to something he did not do. It seems now that since the officers have arrested him they are trying to justify their action by railroading him. The boy is a Boy Scout and trained in first aid, so it does not stand to reason that he would hit anyone and drive off and leave him.

OUR REPLY follows: We are much interested in what you tell us about your boy, and know how concerned you naturally must be. But if you can place him and the whole matter in the Father’s Hands, knowing that Divine Justice rules and not human justice, and will have him lovingly and trustingly in His care, you will find that everything will come out in a seemingly miraculous way. We are holding this truth with you, and we have no doubt of what will result.

THREE MONTHS later: I wrote you about my boy being arrested for hit and run driving, which is a felony in this state. You very kindly wrote me in reply offering some very clear suggestions.

The case came to trial in the Superior Court of this County yesterday. The State presented their case and our attorney asked for a dismissal without our putting on a single witness for defence. This was immediately granted by the Judge. So it was over very quickly.

In your letter you stated that a miracle would happen. Some very strange things certainly did happen. The case was called for 9:30 A. M., Thursday, but was delayed until 4 P. M. yesterday.
