The Inner Life

That is one of the chief reasons for the Inner Life teachings—to explain the difference between the soul and the Spirit and their different states of consciousness. For not until the bud of the soul has unfolded the blossom, or Divine Love—the Christ—has been born in the soul, and then not until the fruit in the heart of the blossom has ripened, or the Christ in the soul has reached maturity and through the anointing of the Holy Spirit has completely possessed the mind, the consciousness has not been fully Christed.

Before the budding season, the soul is concerned wholly with material things. During the budding period, the soul awakens and begins to develop its intellectual powers and often attains great knowledge and complete mastery of mind and body. Witness the Yogis and Adepts and their wonderful control of occult forces.

But as the Epistle says, “If they have not Love, they are but as sounding brass and tinkling cymbals.”

The I Am consciousness can teach the mind all knowledge and can give to it all power, but without Love, the least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than one in the I Am consciousness.

For remember, the I Am—the soul—may still be of the earth earthy, but when reborn it may win the Kingdom of God—become I AM THAT I AM.

THE WORLD is in the midst of Tribulation. The seething of forces that are inciting men to strike, to revolt, to make war with one another are but a part of Nature’s revolt at the injustice and lawlessness rampant everywhere.

It is but a phase of the breaking up of the Old Order so that God’s good and perfect expression—His true nature can come forth into manifestation in the hearts and lives of men.

All who can be reached and influenced by ideas of insurrection and destruction are the ones permitted to be used by the Forces of Righteousness in order that what is not just and good can be destroyed.
