By that time I was beginning dimly to understand what had happened to me. I went to the millinery department to look at hats; two clerks were talking together—they looked around but just went on talking. I commenced to resent not being waited upon; and that resentful thought must have brought me back into the earth vibration, for I saw the elevator right in front of me with the door open waiting for me to step in.
I immediately analyzed that experience, and know that I had been invisible, myself.
Regarding your experience in the department store, it looks as if, while waiting for the elevator to come, which you had approached without realizing it, you suddenly in consciousness found yourself on the etheric plane, the inner plane next to the physical and the exact counterpart of it, only some way “different,” more “beautiful” and “perfect.” On this plane you could see the things and people on the physical plane, while you were invisible to them, accounting for the peculiar actions of those you contacted.
Then finally when the elevator descended you came back into your normal consciousness. It is a very interesting experience and quite unusual, and explains many things that sometimes are hard to understand. Go back over this experience again and see if it was not as we have stated.

I saw an avenue on either side of which were large palm trees, and at the end of this avenue was a cement wall with a large iron gate that opened in the center. Inside this gate was a beautiful white stucco building such as they have in California and Mexico.
The other dream was of a blustery day that looked very stormy, big clouds sailing swiftly across the skies, and now and then the sun would shine through. I was on the shore of a bay, but off in the distance was the ocean, and it seemed calm in spite of the stormy weather. I was getting ready to sail out into the ocean and was in a boat with five big strong men; but they seemed to be me or part of me. Somehow I knew that I would escape the storm if I would get quickly away from the shore; but there were two more I had to take along—a painter and his teacher. I was busy painting, when I awakened.
