THE SUN’S light travels at the rate of 186,000 miles per second. Its color appears to us as yellow, sometimes slightly orange.

If we pass a beam of light through a spectrum, it will be broken up into seven primary colors. Between these are gradations of color that grow fainter and fainter until they finally merge into the next color, which in its turn is faint at first, and gradually grows stronger until it becomes what is known as the next primary color. The study of colors and their vibrations is of the greatest interest even to the student who does not sense the truth behind this visible manifestation of light. The one color, indigo, is said to contain all the other colors. Black is said to be an absorption of all the colors, and white is said to be the lack of any color. It is a reflection, or throwing back of all the colors.

To the student of the occult, the combination of three colors, blue, red and yellow, give rise to all the other colors. Many books could be written on the subject of color alone, and even then the subject would not be exhausted. The white light of the sun travels at the rate of 186,000 miles per second, yet each of the colors of which it is composed has a rate of vibration peculiarly its own. Red is said to have the lowest, yellow, probably, the highest.

Just as light sends its vibrations, every object or substance in nature has a radiation or vibration of its own. This cannot be seen as in light, but it can be felt by sensitive people and animals and can be detected by various instruments. Recently, in New York, this was demonstrated over the Columbia Network. Such substances as chalk, wood, feathers, iron, radium, cork, were placed before a microphone, and the slight rustling, crackling or popping of each substance could be distinctly heard. Radium gave out the loudest or strongest succession of sounds, and feathers, the softest.
