with the kind of substance under consideration. Had we ears to hear, the smallest blade of grass and the tiniest feather on a bird’s wing would have a voice of its own. The winds and the waves would speak, and the human being, attuned to Nature, would hear as God hears, feel as God feels, and know as God knows. The blue sky, the woods, the streams, the grass and the flowers would speak for him “a varied language,” and all the secrets of the earth would be open to his mind. His soul would interpret these languages for him in words best fitted to his understanding, and he would literally live in intelligent communion with the forces of Nature.

Persons and animals have the same vibratory quality as have all the so-called “inanimate” substances, but in addition, they can increase or decrease their radiation, according to their mood or will, so as to affect other people or objects, even at a distance.

Personality is the sum total of all one’s vibrations both physical and mental. An unspoken thought may be a blessing or a curse to the one to whom it is directed, and the individual whose thoughts are busy with good to others unconsciously attracts others to him. There are some persons who attract stray dogs and cats that are looking for kindness or food, while the same animals shrink in terror or bristle with rage at the sight of other persons who may have successfully concealed their true character from their fellow-men. People called sensitives can sometimes see these colors or wave-like emanations. Dogs and cats are peculiarly sensitive to these unseen radiations of thought and body.

A man’s character can be known by his colors which are evident to a sensitive or a clairvoyant. A sensitive who has been trained for this, can not only see the colors but can describe accurately a man’s mental and physical condition, simply by handling some object which has been in contact with him.

Each of us is surrounded by an aura, just as the yolk of an egg is surrounded by the white within the shell. This aura is variously colored, according to our mood or emotions. Thus, a man of kindly character, or one who is well poised and possessing some degree of enlightenment or mental culture and who is in good health of body and mind, has been described as having the appearance of a gorgeous rainbow, while others show an aura of gray, splotched with brown or other repellent colors.
