Now the cloth dissolved away, and the land was seen to be desolate. The lines which had divided it were removed, and over all there was silence. Then, out of the silence was heard a Trumpet, and a Voice speaking Wisdom. And because of the silence the people heard the Voice, and thereafter, for a space, there was Peace in the land.
THE above article was first printed in The Occult Review of London in June, 1926, and was afterward incorporated along with two other articles, The Toxin and Substance and Shadow (later published in the same Magazine) in Foundation Letters and Teachings, by Brother XII, referred to in the Editorial of the August issue of The Inner Life, and advertised in the back section of this issue.—THE EDITOR.

If you desire fully to digest the truths that you read, still the mind while reading, then try to merge into the consciousness of the author and to read as if you yourself are saying the words, not reading them.
