THE FOLLOWING recital is given as another illustration of what results from experimenting with the psychic. No matter how good are one’s intentions, one has to pay for allowing one’s self to go contrary to the leadings of the Inner Voice, which always—without exception to one who hears that Voice—warns and urges against in any way dabbling with psychic practices and things.

Fortunately this friend listened to that Voice sufficiently to learn what was not Its will and purpose for her, and was therefore saved the usual terrors and horrible experiences endured by those fully caught by psychic forces; but she was allowed to suffer enough to learn what she escaped.—THE EDITOR.

I WAS recently led into attending a psychic class through a dear friend who was its teacher. This class is conducted in this fashion—you attend three times, with the permission and approval of the discarnate Guide of my teacher friend, and you are then given a personal teacher in the discarnate.

Despite an ugly experience (physical) at the beginning of the first meeting and during the entire third one I attended, I went through the thing. However, from the very start the Inner Voice kept telling me that while all that I saw and heard might be good for others, yet it should be the fruit of one’s own spiritual growth, and should not be accepted just because it came through another, whether incarnate or discarnate. The Inner Voice told me most emphatically not to attend any more; and when I told this to my friend, she insisted that my discomfort during the meetings was due to nothing but fear.

I told her it was not; but despite that I did not know just what it was, myself. Of course, as I look back now, I see that my Higher Self took me there to have my eyes opened, but at the same time made me suffer physically so that there would be no temptation to continue.
