The Inner Life
THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JULY 1936
pray, for even now He walks the earth. He is no longer subject to death. He comes and goes where He listeth. Only those see Him who know Him in their hearts. Nor shall He ever more be scourged of man. But in His hand is the scourge, and the sword and the sceptre, that the evil may be smitten sorely.
Come ye then out of the finite into the infinite and be at One with Him, for He cometh to establish righteousness and the thunderbolts of lightning shall hurl themselves over the face of the earth, and in that day shall the scorners be called to account.
Each to his own. Each to his gifts and his desires; for soon there shall be no choice but that which he has made.
In that day ye shall be judged according to your own choice; and if ye prefer the things that perish ye shall perish with them.

A TEACHER?
A NEOPHYTE in solitude sat,
Pondering questions, this and that;
His desire was ever to serve
And from the Path never to swerve.
“I should like to be,” said he,
“A Teacher of Humanity.”
The Voice came clear as any bell,
“A teacher or leader? Look thee well
First to thyself, O student; mind
Thoroughly search and thou wilt find
That in thyself which must be taught,
Ere with humanity thou canst do aught.
“To serve thy aim? Then first be sure
To serve thyself and effect a cure;
Which to humanity shall be
A true example that all may see.
For ‘by their fruits,’ the Bible saith,
Shall prove the working of one’s faith.”
