A VISION
IN A CITY was located an immense school. I was a teacher in that school. I realized that a tremendous calamity was happening to the city which entailed its utter destruction. I knew I must remain in the building until every one was out, regardless as to whether the building stood or fell. There was a big open space in front next to the street through which I could see what was happening outside.
On the other side of the wide empty street I could see a muddy turbulent river, filled with screaming, struggling human forms, parts of buildings, broken furniture and all kinds of debris, as if the river was gathering up all things being destroyed and was carrying them away. The raging, boiling waters swept everything with them, those caught in the current were helpless, despite their most desperate efforts.
Then my attention was attracted to the empty street. I went out and stood on the veranda and saw down the street to the right in front of the building a company of children formed in ranks as if awaiting me. I looked at them carefully to see if the ranks were filled and no one was missing.
Then I saw a block away marching down the street toward us in orderly ranks other companies of school children from schools all over the city. They were organized in squares like the cadets at a West Point drill. Each company was headed at the left front corner by a teacher, and there was a small open space between each section. There was no confusion, no disorder.
Then I realized that I was holding a handful of very beautiful gems—rubies, emeralds and other precious stones, which glittered and sparkled with all the colors of the rainbow. They were my reward for service given in this school, and somehow I knew that my work there was finished—that all was now ready and I was free to depart.
THE ABOVE is another remarkable picture of what will happen at the time of the Great Change.
