extended hand. Instantly a great host of angels responded to the gesture, and stood at attention, awaiting His commands.

He addressed them, saying, “Give to these, my beloved people, the instruments and powers which heretofore have belonged to gods alone. Clothe these instruments and powers in forms which my people may control, and make of them efficient servants for my beloved; so there can be produced every material necessity and luxury in overflowing abundance that no man, woman or child or the meanest living thing that visits these shores need ever be in want again.” Having spoken, He extended His hand once more, and arising, sought His celestial home.

And the angels hastened to obey His word. They called on the forces of earth and water, of air and fire, and great changes took place on the island. The forces of the elements appeared, clad in harness, as water wheels, steam engines, electric motors, and thousands of other intelligent and willing slaves, capable of producing in infinite quantities the things man needed for safety, shelter, nutriment, comfort and joy. Neither time, space nor matter were obstacles to these intelligent forces; they manipulated them at pleasure, and used them at man’s behest and in his service. The island in a brief time was filled with a wealth of everything a prince might dream of, and the flow of riches was greater than all its inhabitants or visitors could consume.

When the beneficent God reached His celestial home, He reported what He had done to one of the Great Ones, to whom He frequently went for counsel. The Great One smiled benevolently, and spoke as follows:
