DEFINITIONS OF TERMS

Study these definitions carefully before beginning your study, as they will help make many things clear that otherwise will not be understood.

THE HIGHER SELF

The Higher Self is your Divine or Christ Self, God’s Holy Spirit that deep within, in the innermost part of your nature, is a “Light ever shining in the darkness, but the darkness of the human mind knoweth it not.”

It is that part of you that knows the end from the beginning, that has been putting you through every experience in life, compelling your soul through the human mind to learn its lessons whether it wants to or not. It is your REAL Self, Whose life is growing you, Whose Consciousness is the consciousness of your mind, and Whose Will gives you the power to do or be anything you do or become. You of yourself are nothing; all that you are, He is, and all knowledge, power and ability you have comes from Him, given you as fast as you are able to receive and use it.

In fact, He is the Real You, the only You; is that part of You that says I Am, and IS I Am, and Who Alone IS. His Voice always speaks from the heart, and from out a great Love.

THE SELF

What you call your self is but the creation of your human mind which believes itself to be you and separate from I Am and from God; when it cannot possibly be separate, for its consciousness is Your consciousness, which is God’s Consciousness, in Which all live, move and have their being. The human mind, in its sense of separation, and through wrong teachings and beliefs acquired from childhood, has built into “self” all its qualities that are so unlike God and Your real nature, and which believes You as the Higher Self are utilizing to teach it the truth about You and God, by allowing it to learn, through following these beliefs, what is not God’s way and purpose for it. In the earlier stages that is the only way You can teach it—through the mistakes it makes.

THE SOUL

The Soul is the real you (Note the difference in the use of capitals between the “Real You,” referring to the Higher Self,
