DEVELOPING SPIRITUAL FACULTIES II
THIS is the second paper on “How to Awaken the Spiritual Faculties.”
I have used as much of the outlines I have already described to you as the subject demanded. The interpretation is from my own experience, and I believe it is in accord with the teachings of the Master Jesus. I could have used methods like those of Ingalese and other teachers of modern occultism, but I have seen too much of the after-effects of this forcing the Spirit to give us things we do not really need or which we would use to the detriment of others.
It seems to me that the whole world is now suffering from too much of this mental banditry. There is always a reaction from the Cosmic, and the ultimate losses are greater than the gains. I believe that the living of the right kind of spiritual life will result in having all our needs supplied. Simon Magus had the same idea that so many are willing to accept as the right way.
I have tried to make this method practical. After I had first demonstrated this way, I went back and demonstrated the Ingalese way. It was like a college graduate going back to a primary school. Then I began all over again and reverted to my original method.
With some people, the teachings of the Cosmic have to be supplemented by very severe lessons. If we could grow, like the lilies of the fields, in beauty and perfection of spirit, God would automatically supply our needs; and we should seek wider fields of service to humanity rather than a filled purse, high position, power or prestige.

IN THE November issue of this magazine, you were given the first step or degree in the development of Spiritual faculties. This first step taught you how to open your mind, or make yourself receptive, to the great unseen forces about you. It was the first step in bridging the consciousness between the five bodily or physical senses and the five spiritual senses.
