THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | MARCH 1936
Later, the child had some private conversations with her “husband,” and he corroborated all her statements.
Shanti, who is a very pretty little girl, is anxious to return to Muttra, but her parents are unwilling to let her go. In the meantime more than 100,000 pilgrims have visited her father’s house in Delhi, all hoping to catch a glimpse of the “wonder child.”

DOST THOU LOVE ME?
DOST thou love Me? Prove it now—
By “Feed My sheep;” fulfill the vow!
By fruits thou shalt be known,
Not by words in pretense sown,
Nor by any passing notion
Playing on a strong emotion.
Canst thou say, when Thomas doubting
Lifts his voice to frenzied shouting,
“Peace, be still! Thy God reigneth,
He thy perfect faith sustaineth:
Hid with Christ in God thou knowest,
Without signs, the way thou goest?”
When impulsive Peter cries,
“I know Him not!” and thrice denies
His Lord, wilt thou press on forsaken,
Steadfast in thy love unshaken;
See at close of earthly day
“I Am the Door—I Am the Way?”
Canst thou hear the warning hiss
Of the fatal Judas kiss,
Let alone within the garden
Pray the fervent prayer of pardon;
On the cross with spear-thrust riven
Know that all for Christ is given?
Dost thou love Me?—Art thou sure
Thou canst every step endure
To the Mount Transfiguration
Where the end of thy probation
Lifts the veil, and Resurrection
Proves the truth of thine election?
