The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | DECEMBER 1935

so self-evident that it needs no illustrations to prove it; but we urge your giving it real thought in order to see where it leads.

The amazing thing about this realization, when it fully dawns upon the mind, is that all things must exist then only in mind—exist in the mind only of the one who thinks them! For the inescapable conclusion is that no two minds are exactly the same and therefore do not think exactly the same things, and so cannot possibly see anything exactly the same; they see only what their intelligence sees or thinks a thing is—and so it appears thus to them individually, but not to others.

Now try to perceive the great truth drawn from the above conclusion: All that you see that is now manifesting in your life, body or world is only what you THINK or BELIEVE is so!

This actually means that all you see are but a lot of thought-pictures that exist only in your mind; and that being so, if you change your thoughts or beliefs regarding anything that appears, the outer manifestation must necessarily change.

This is a stupendous revelation, when fully grasped, and when one sets out definitely to prove it and begins to use its truth in the problems confronting one, it becomes convincingly evident that one has come into possession of a secret and a power that is priceless and which will enable one to make over one’s whole life, body and world.

The funny thing about this truth, however, is that so-called “truth students” at the beginning were taught it in their very first New Thought or metaphysical books, and that then the thought greatly intrigued them; but that somehow only a few very unusual souls were intrigued enough to apply the truth and let it for themselves out of existing inharmonies and difficulties.

Why? Because they had not yet trained themselves to do determinedly and persistently what they had just shown their minds must be done in order to get the benefit of that intriguing truth.

That training has not been given and finished up to the present day by one in a million among the hundreds of million of minds on earth. Yet it must be given by all men to their minds before life here on earth attains its full fruitage.
