it is a true and high source and that everything else said and claimed by this source is equally good and true.

You must remember that many are being quickened in these last days by the Great Light being poured upon the world because of the near approach of the Kingdom, and that thousands are unfolding new faculties, are searching for the meaning of things being shown them from within; and these forces knowing this are everywhere, as it were, way-laying these newly awakened ones and while presenting to them some plain truths surrounded with alluring embellishments, are making also fulsome promises of all kinds of things that can be gained by the use of powerful affirmations, by following prescribed directions, and by submitting only to their guidance.

They know that it only takes something bizarre like this, something highly mysterious that always appeals to self, to attract these new ones who are awakening in such large numbers at this time, and the larger the crowds that attend their meetings the more sure they are of enlisting many, because of the glamour they are able to cast on the mass-mind and which easily influences all the negative and gullible ones.

The sad part is that many earnest followers of Christ are also caught in this glamour, and have to go through much mental suffering before finally freed from its baleful influence. But this is seemingly necessary before they can learn always and only to listen to the quiet, loving Voice within, instead of to the loud, authoritative statements of those who would lead them away from the True Light.

For the others—the newly awakened ones, they need this experience to give them a glimpse of the real, and to learn that “all is not gold that glitters,” which causes them to do some real thinking and in time to search for the true way, that which will bring them to the peace and happiness their souls are seeking.

That way lies only within—never without, following some outer teacher’s guidance; by that we mean, unquestioningly following it. Unless any teaching, statement or guidance is fully confirmed and approved by the quiet, loving One within, it must never be accepted or followed.
