IN THE editorial in the October issue of this magazine we tried to make more plain to new as well as old readers our definite policy of presenting to them any truths that will be helpful in acquainting them fully with the inner life no matter from what source come these truths.

There are truths and good in almost all teachings, as well as in most books that ostensibly give out teachings. There are certain books that have been published and quickly found a wide sale, because of the inspiration and help they brought to thousands of souls who enthusiastically recommended them to their friends. Certain things later came out about these books; that they were not from the sources claimed, or that their authors were not what they should be; or that they had got into trouble through mistakes or sins committed, etc.

We know of five or six of such authors whose books have had a distinct and powerful influence on the lives and spiritual growth of many souls,—in almost all cases a good influence, in spite of the later discoveries made.
