this enable you to see that the progressed ones of the race are those who are thus returning to their Father’s home in their soul consciousness in the Garden of Eden?

When in that consciousness, what does it signify? We will quote from “The Soul Consciousness” article on page 137 of the February issue:

“In this consciousness you are free from all things of the world, the flesh and the self—from all their forces and attractions; where these things are seen for just what they are—all illusions, having no power or influence over you, for they are only your mind’s creations and the only power of life is what your mind gave them by thinking them real, by fearing or hating them, or by desiring to be free from them.”

This shows clearly that such things exist only in the outer mind’s consciousness—and not in the Garden of Eden, the soul’s consciousness.

Why was man driven from the Garden of Eden? He had to be driven, or if left to himself he would have remained there forever. The Sons of God knew this; so in order to induce men (the soul) to cooperate, a way had to be contrived to interest him in all the qualities and forces of his lower nature—symbolized by the animal, vegetable and mineral kingdoms—that were still a part of his complex constitution, so that they could be consciously redeemed and lifted up into the One Consciousness—that of the Higher Selves—of Christ and of God.

The only way to do this was to cause the soul to become interested in the body and its forces, and that could not be done in the soul consciousness where man was interested only in spiritual things. It was not good for man to be alone—that is, to be always one in consciousness with the Lord God, no longer interested in the things of the outer world, of which it was an integral part. For as a soul cannot live alone without the outer body, no more can the body live alone without the soul; and as long as man dwells in the body, his work is among his fellows in the physical world, in order to help them to rise into the same consciousness that he has attained.

The Soul therefore had to extend itself or to lower its consciousness to that of the body, and in order to accomplish this it
