WE ASK you now to try to realize, when you think, or give birth to a thought, and you animate and motivate it with your intelligence, and especially when you send it forth to accomplish some purpose, that of itself it cannot go anywhere or do anything, but that some unseen and very real force must carry out your will and accomplish your purpose for you.

In other words, you can think a thought, can animate it with life, and can desire it to accomplish what is intended, but that is as far as you can go. Something else must accomplish for you what you desire or will. What does it?

Can you conceive that all force of whatever kind—anything that moves, whether in air, fire, water or earth, is the action of elemental beings belonging to the sub-human kingdom? These beings are commonly called elementals, in order to designate and classify their function and place in the scale of life, and their name indicates their nature, for they actually constitute the elements, and which we recognize in the wind of storms, in the flames of fire, in the waves of the ocean, and in the land-slides and earthquakes of the land.

In reality, however, they are elemental forces, originally given birth in consciousness by man in the sins and crimes committed in ignorance in the dim past, and which he is now being required to redeem, by mastering and controlling them, and finally utilizing them as servants of God and of all mankind.
