received,” and whose business it is to help all who are seeking the way out of the darkness of ignorance and error into the light of truth. Every man has around him such helpers, guardian angels if you will, in the invisible, deputized by higher beings, and all under the direction of his own Divine Self, to guard, guide, aid and teach his human self, whenever possible or necessary for his spiritual growth.

The evidence of this can be perceived many times a day by anyone who studies carefully the thoughts, impressions and leadings that come continually to him and which cause him to do the things he does. Very few, however, take the trouble to inquire or ever think of investigating where these leadings come from, not to speak of what are the unmistakable unseen influences at work guiding and shaping their lives. But those who do study themselves cannot help but come to the conclusion that there are such influences, and it naturally causes them—if they are sufficiently awakened to the importance of the subject—to seek to learn how they may consciously receive guidance from such helpers in spirit, and more particularly how they may distinguish them as “angels of light,” and not be deceived by those who pretend to be helpers and instead are intending them harm.

These helpers work much as do those dedicated to service here in the outer world, in their higher consciousness and wider vision; but having the advantage of being invisible, of reading thoughts and motives, and thereby of knowing one’s needs, besides having a greater understanding of what is best for the one being helped, through their power of inspiring others and of bringing about conditions impossible to one in a lesser consciousness, they are able to accomplish seemingly miraculous things.
