AS TO the Voice speaking in the first of the above letters, it matters not if it was the Voice of the Higher Self or of a helper; for it was a helping voice and was undoubtedly directed by the Higher Self to accomplish the good intended. This you may know, that all leadings connected with material things or personal affairs usually come from invisible helpers; for the Higher Self takes charge and Himself speaks and acts through His human instrument only when he is an Accepted Disciple, and then only in Spiritual matters and for the helping and blessing of others. With all other matters He works through invisible Disciples or lesser helpers, according to the nature of the assistance to be given.

If you would know Him, He always speaks from out a Great Love, and the degree of Spiritual advancement of your brothers in spirit or of those in the flesh may be known by the degree of Love they express—not by their seeming wisdom; for they may have what you think is wisdom, but if you do not feel Love, you may know that they are not yet acknowledged Disciples of the Lord Christ.

In the second letter is another example of definite guidance and protection, but apparently the experience was given her at the time further to convince her of such protection; for surely she could have been warned about what was to happen and could have been saved the discomfort of it—but it would not have made the strong impression upon her mind that it did. The evidence of her having a clear understanding of such protection is in her having grown to rely and depend upon it.
