KARMA

WE HEAR much talk about Karma among those who are trying to understand the law of Cause and Effect, Karma being an Eastern term used to designate that law. So we deem it wise to make clear the fundamental principles back of such a law.

Naturally there must be a purpose and a reason for the existence of any law. In fact a law is an inherent part of nature and of life itself, and if it can be said to have any purpose or reason, it is only when man becomes aware of its necessity exact and inevitable operation, and then begins to conform his conduct to it, in order to avoid the consequences of any infraction of that law.

The activities of all the manifestations of nature and of the life animating it must necessarily be in accordance with perfect law, and the law of Cause and Effect could not be otherwise, or chaos and confusion would be in
