TO DESIRE nothing, to cling to nothing, to strive for nothing; but to detach one’s self, bit by bit, from all that was formerly held dear. To seek ever what can be given, to yield all to the uses of the Divine Self within,—all that one is, all that one has.

To criticize nothing, to condemn nothing, to hold aloof from nothing; but to listen ever for the Voice of Spirit within. To keep the heart always open and the eyes ever lighted in Love, being satisfied and content to know that God is All in All.

To rebel at nothing, to resist nothing, to refuse nothing; but to be pliable in the hands of the Lord. To accept all that He brings, to learn the uses of all, to rejoice and be thankful for all.

To be responsible for nothing, to be concerned about nothing, to be entangled in nothing; but to become as a little child, utterly dependent upon the Loving Father for all the needs of existence, obedient to His every urge, being taught by Him through all.

To do nothing of one’s self, never to refuse to do anything that is placed before one; but to perform all tasks, great and small, for the Glory of the Lord, in steadfast knowing that as one starts trustingly to do it, He will point the way and provide the power that will enable one to do all perfectly as He has planned it.

To have no will, or purpose, or opinions, or even thoughts of one’s own; but to become as nothing, casting aside, like worn-out garments, all that one formerly held oneself to be, resting selflessly in perfect Faith and Trust in His Everlasting Love.
