hope, expectation and an intense desire for accomplishment. We simply changed the consciousness and reversed the process that caused the manifestation.

The mother of the boy had accompanied them to the clinic. She had asked the doctors if it was possible for the accumulation to be eliminated through the bronchial tubes and be expectorated. Their answer was that it was an absolute impossibility. When the consciousness becomes constructive and fixed upon definite purposes, the intelligence within the organism asserts itself and so-called miracles take place. The infinite wisdom of the life principle, when allowed to flow freely through us, knows its own work and does it perfectly.

In a week’s time the viscid mass in the lung cavity was thinned to a proper consistency and one night the youth expectorated over a quart of pus. The optimistic viewpoint of the objective consciousness had mirrored itself in the consciousness of the billions of cells constituting the organs involved, and then the work of repair became very rapid.

Within six months from the time we first contacted this boy he entered school and played on the foot-ball team all that winter. He became interested in all forms of athletics and developed a chest and set of shoulders that compared well with the best of athletes.

There is an interesting sequel to this case. About two years after the time he was in the clinic it became necessary for him to take a physical examination. It so happened that he was required to go to the physician who was in charge of the clinic of which he had been a patient. After making a thorough examination and pronouncing him absolutely perfect in every way, the Doctor said, “Did you have a brother that passed away a year or two ago?” His answer was, “No, I did not.” Again they asked, “Do you have a brother that is an invalid?” Again the answer was “No.” The doctor then asked him, “Was there another family in that locality that had a boy with an absessed lung?” The boy then told him that he was the boy he was talking about.

It was almost impossible for him to convince the gentleman. He finally said, “Well, you ought to know who you are, but according to all I know about diagnosis, you ought to have been dead and buried long ago.”
