“As I told one friend, ‘If I could not meet this small test of my knowledge of truth, of what use is it to me?’

“When those who come to me for help with liquor, and other things—if I hold them in as complete knowing as I am holding my son, nothing can manifest in them that their Higher Self does not will. I believe now, as long as I know I am that Light, that personal perfection, personal powers and personal supply will be absorbed by that Light and the good and perfect expression of them will come forth from that Light.”

From a later letter from the same mother:

“I want to tell you about the baby boy, now almost three years old. He is beautiful, perfect and loving, a gift of God. Before he could talk he would kneel at night and say, ‘Je Je. Amen.’ That was his nightly prayer. He calls Unity books ‘Je Je books,’ as they have Jesus’ picture on the cover. The other day when it stopped raining, he looked up and said ‘Je turned the rain off.’ I never knew that he had any idea that Jesus had anything to do with the rain. He often wakes at night and says, ‘Mamma, I love Je Je. Do Je Je love me?’ He is indeed God’s child.

“He has always played with what he picked up—from needles to razor blades, and friends cry out for me to take them away from him, that he will not swallow them or cut himself. But I say ‘No, he will not do a single thing that God knows is not good for him.’ And now two neighboring friends say, ‘Well, there must be something to the queer things Anna believes, for that baby has never been hurt or had a scratch.’

“It is because I know that God within my children will take care of them, and I do not need to say all the time, ‘Don’t do this,’ or ‘don’t do that.’

“He worries everyone but me because he doesn’t eat, although he is robust and happy. Should they try to force food upon him, he absolutely refuses it. Here is his daily food: A glass of milk for breakfast; cocoa and sometimes a slice of bread and butter for lunch; cantaloupe or fruit and a glass of milk at night. Seldom does he eat more—other than a little fruit during the day.

“But I turned him over to the Father before he was born, so I am not going to interfere in any way now.
