The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | JULY 1935

We know that many of our readers have such children, and if they will write us of any incidents in their lives showing they are old or advanced souls, or that cannot be explained in the ordinary way, we will be glad to comment on same and show how to help such children unfold their true nature and possibilities.

Any parents who are having trouble with such children, through not understanding them, and who sincerely wish to know what is best to do, if they will describe fully their trouble, we will try to suggest things that will help.

We expect to publish the first article in the August issue, and urge our friends who have been planning to write us to do so as early as possible.

“SERVICE”

I ONLY ask to serve and grow
More consciousness of God to know.
To be the match that sets alight
Some beacon in the dark of night.
Or to be useful as the star
That sheds its light in space afar.
To lift a weary traveler’s load
And bring the consciousness to God.

I ask in all the Christ to see,
To heal the sick—the prisoner free.
If treasures in my hand should pour
I pray that I may give the more.
Not for the world’s applause I seek
But just the helpful word to speak.
I do not ask for gaudy show
I ask to serve and serving—grow.
