The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | MARCH 1933

needed in her pilgrimage on earth would be provided, and her cottage today stands as a sort of beacon to the people of the surrounding country; her neighbors have found there a never-failing help, and from miles around people seek her advice when their difficulties become too hard or their burdens of care too heavy. For they have learned that because of having solved her own problems by looking to the unfailing Source of all Wisdom, Strength and Love, and always finding help and comfort, she is able to direct them to the same Presence for the supplying of their needs.

Likewise Robert Rayon learned that by submitting himself to that same guidance he was always led to do just the right thing. From his wide experience and having been well known formerly as a successful business man, his neighbors grew in the habit of coming to him with their financial problems, and he was able when advising them to turn them to God and thus help them to trust Him for their support and to show them the way out of their difficulties. In turn whenever they needed extra help in their gardens or on their farms, they gave him work and all the fruit and vegetables he and Ruth could use. He also had begun raising chickens and selling their eggs, and in time built up a modest and good paying business, ample for their simple needs.

With all of this they were happy, far happier than when in their big home with all its cares and responsibilities, of managing Robert’s business, and of keeping up their social obligations. For now their hearts were at peace, nothing ever worried them, their neighbors loved them, and they looked to and trusted everything to God, as a dear and loving Friend, Who always anticipated their every want, provided unexpected blessings, and proved that He was an ever-present help in time of need.
