much like any modern city of today. The dwellers on the plateau had very little contact with the city people, and I never gave much thought to it.

It was at a time when the financial problem was beginning to press me on the physical plane, and I remember taking up the question with some of my friends on the plateau. One who seemed to be a Mentor or Helper suggested that I accompany him to the city and that he would make me acquainted with a financier friend of his, and I might talk to him. I remember being rather surprised, for I had seen no money in use on the plateau, and wondered at the need of financiers here.

At any rate I accompanied him to a beautiful bank structure in the valley, and was introduced to what he said was the most able and high-minded banker he knew. We had quite a talk and the financier took my signature and assured me that it was good for funds in any amount that I might wish at any time, and further assured me of his willingness to aid me with his experience and knowledge whenever I would call upon him. At that time I did not fully interpret to myself what the experience symbolically meant, but I did expect that my conditions in the outer world would in some way be improved.

A year or so later when I changed my dwelling place from the apartment to a private home on the plateau, the remembrance came to me, and in pondering over it I wondered just how to classify this “Banker,” who with apparently the ability to help and the best of intentions had to all appearances accomplished nothing. I called on one of the “Helpers” and inquired about him, and was told that he was no longer in the bank, but had been selected for a higher work and now dwelt on the plateau, where he had his place of business.
