The Inner Life

THE HERALD OF THE NEW AGE | MARCH 1936

Man must learn that he is an integral part of the whole Universal Plan, and as one broken cog mars the perfect coordination of a delicate machine so does one imperfect soul mar the perfect circle of God’s children.

Men are children, God’s children, and through ignorance the workings of God’s laws are bringing destruction down upon themselves. These men must be taught to follow the beautiful teachings of Him who walked in Galilee, and thus become purified in spirit and be given the gift of everlasting life; for he who gives himself to learning, to trying to follow the commandments of God, is given not one earth journey to learn, but many journeys.

Make the crossing of your bridge be profitable, O Brethren. Fill the journey with beauty and love and laughter. Gaze into the face of each fellow traveler and know he is beloved of God, even as are you.

Learn to transcend those things which would trouble you and cast forth the light that is within you, that it may help to light the way for some pilgrim less fortunate than you.

Grim forces are gathering, hovering over earth’s dominions seeking to wreak cruelty and destruction upon the earth. But push on, My Brethren. Build for better and purer lives upon this bridge wherein you now dwell, and fear not for the life that follows.

Dear Father:

Give us strength in our living and help us to be generous and forgiving to our enemies and to be merciful to them who would harm us.

We in our humble bodies are one with Thee; guide us in Thy wisdom to become more righteous and more divine. Amen.

—Through Mary and Martha—Oregon

NATURE

“EVERY day and season overflows with good;
Each has his own glory, if rightly understood.
Nature, always in tune, always has a song;
If we do not hear it, we’re the ones gone wrong.”
